Pa-Kua
International League, through the PA-KUA Brazilian Association, we
promote The Fist International Open Classes in Brasil, an event of
integration of the students all over the world. The event is in
celebration of 32 years of activities of Pa-Kua International League in
the world and 19 years of activities of Pa-Kua Brazilian Association.
It
will be a weekend to celebrate more then three decades of successful
evolution, credibility, organization, innovation of our great family of
students and masters.
The gathering will occur in December 06
and 07 of 2008 in Florianópolis - SC, students and the organization
staff we are expecting your presence, with the objective of providing
moments of reflections, learning and fraternization, in the Ways of
Pa-Kua, giving opportunities to the instructors and masters to exchange
information, cooperation and integration among the participants from
Brazil and another countries.
Thus, IN THESE OPEN CLASSES YOU CAN’T MISS, because you are our guest.

 Pa-Kua is now teaching at Creative Beginnings Elementary school to 24 new students thanks to one of our parents in Pa-Kua that set up the classes. Great Job! We are teaching every Friday at 3:00pm.

Master Jason Landau will be teaching "Two Short Sticks" (escrima) weapons course Wednesday October 8th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Please contact him a soon as possible if you would like to attend.

Description:
The art of fighting with two short sticks is a very interesting study.
The versatility that of fighting with the sticks provides am excellent extension of a students martial arts studies.
The study of this weapon is also based on the arrangement of the Pakua symbol, and
makes use of the circular movements, the principal of Sky Man and Earth distances and the
use of the opponent's energy.
The combination of martial art fighting with the use of the short sticks adds tremendous
versatility to the students martial arts abilities. It enables the student to elaborate on techniques
previously studied and now modified to increase effectiveness.
Techniques of fighting with the short sticks can also be combined with training on other weapons. where
one opponent attacks with another weapon and another defends himself as well as counter attacks with
the short sticks.
What Pakua offers in the study of the short sticks, is not only the ability to inflicts serious injury to
the opponent (by breaking bones or applying deadly locks), but also the study of pressure point attacks
that immobilize the opponent as well the use of the short sticks for ground fighting.
Flips and "take-downs" are also a very important part of short stick fighting.
